Shame, Sadness and Anger at Contemporary Ireland

I will not write a lengthy article in the hope that I will not be censored in certain Irish quarters like Indy media Ireland for example(What a sick joke, Indymedia Ireland my with a BBC logo and a brit agenda) perhaps this can serve discussion purposes. I just wish to state from Child abuse, Child rape to emigration, Ireland has failed so many of its children and youth. Whilst the British Empire and remnants of the Roman Empire are responsible for a lot of it, the general heartless response of the community to hardship in it midst, has a lot to answer for. Right now personally, post the Child Abuse Commission report and L'Adamsgate I am really angry with my own country.

A few brave genuine people have shouldered a liberation effort in Ireland for so long and been abused by their own. Catholic Ireland has been mostly opportunistic in its approach to its problems many self-inflicted and we would have been liberated decades ago, were it not for our own duplicity and lack of solidarity.

I have spent a large part of my life travelling and being an activist, always proud of my irish origins, particularly as a country that generally was popular, without a history of colonial aggression. I now find my sadness with recent revelations in Ireland turning to extreme anger and shame, with our population's general non-caring attitude to such rampant horrific crime in its midst.

Ireland is beginning to appear very similar to Israel, who also has a horrific holocaust past, forgotten where it has come from and become an indiscriminate abuser itself. Right now I am ashamed, very sad and very angry at  Ireland in general.

Below is the a link to todays Sunday tribune articles.

My Lagan Love

My Lagan Love
Seosamh MacCathmhaoil

Where Lagan stream sings lullaby
There blows a lily fair
The twilight gleam is in her eye
The night is on her hair
And like a love-sick lennan-shee
She has my heart in thrall
Nor life I owe nor liberty
For love is lord of all.

Her father sails a running-barge
'Twixt Leamh-beag and The Druim;
And on the lonely river-marge
She clears his hearth for him.
When she was only fairy-high
Her gentle mother died;
But dew-Love keeps her memory
Green on the Lagan side.

And often when the beetle's horn
Hath lulled the eve to sleep
I steal unto her shieling lorn
And thru the dooring peep.
There on the cricket's singing stone,
She spares the bogwood fire,
And hums in sad sweet undertone
The songs of heart's desire

Her welcome, like her love for me,
Is from her heart within:
Her warm kiss is felicity
That knows no taint of sin.
And, when I stir my foot to go,
'Tis leaving Love and light
To feel the wind of longing blow
From out the dark of night.

Where Lagan stream sings lullaby
There blows a lily fair
The twilight gleam is in her eye
The night is on her hair
And like a love-sick lennan-shee
She has my heart in thrall
Nor life I owe nor liberty
For love is lord of all.

In Scottish Gaelic a "leannan-sidhe" is a Faery Lover. This type of Faery Lover
often takes a person's love and then leaves. He or she goes back where they came
from leaving the human pining for their lost love. The poor
mortals in the tales of leannan sidhe often died of sorrow.

The song was first published in "Songs of Uladh" in Belfast.

Hughes' preface says: "I made this collection while on holiday in
North Dun-na-n Gall in August of last year." "I got this from Proinseas mac Suibhne who played it for meon the fidil. He had it from his father Seaghan mac Suibhne. It was
sung to a ballad called the "Belfast Maid," now forgotten in Cill-mac-nEnain."

Lambeg is a village between Lisburn and Belfast and the Drum is the site of a
bridge across the river and the canal that was made beside it, which eventually
diverged from the river and entered Lough Neagh. There
for the sake of scansion! " - JM

To quote from Mary O'Hara's notes on this song, from her book "A Song For
Ireland", - "The leánan sídhe (fairy mistress) mentioned in the song is a
malicious figure who frequently crops up in Gaelic love stories. One could call
her the femme fatale of Gaelic folklore. She sought the love of men; if they
refused, she became their slave, but if they consented, they became her slaves
and could only escape by finding another to take their place. She fed off them
so her lovers gradually wasted away - a common enough theme in Gaelic medieval
poetry, which often saw love as a kind of sickness. Most Gaelic poets in the
past had their leanán sídhe to give them inspiration. This malignant fairy was
for them a sort of Gaelic muse. On the other hand, the crickets mentioned in the
song are a sign of good luck and their sound on the hearth a good omen. It was
the custom of newly-married couples about to set up home to bring crickets from
the hearths of their parents' house.

Irish Voice Despite Addams Family's British Censorship

Link to IrishfreedomNews and the Pensive Quill

Intimidation of working class homes by censorship gangs. Visits by members of their thought police gang. Any alternative version of Irish events outside the British controlled media one, is censored in many different ways besides the obvious. I personally have had British spooks call me in the middle of the night, with less than subtle threats to silence me. Having failed to win the media war, mercenary gangs opt to increase the pressure off-camera, in the back streets of working class ireland through intimidation. It makes no difference, truth will out.

The existence of such a culture of British inspired censorship and intimidation has been the backdrop of traditional republicanism since it first emerged. The leadership within Provisional Sinn Féin now supported by a British controlled Irish media do not want their credentials scrutinised. Working class activists, are informed that they cannot speak in public, if deviating from the movement's pro-unionist line. The same principle is applied to republican family meetings. Activists who ask difficult questions of an Adams party speaker are 'gripped' after the event and told such behaviour is non-acceptable behaviour.

Andrew Marr, a very British columnist made the following observation:

"The gunmen in the dripping border villages aren't doing well out of this. ... The poor bloody infantry, and the poor bloody sergeants, with our council flats and farmworkers' cottages? These are the people who now matter most, and are about the only people who haven't been bribed. Everyone else benefits from the peace process."

The nationalists who participated in a Stormont government of the mid-1970s very much to the left of the present one, were labelled by the pen of Danny Morrison, writing with the pseudonym Peter Arnlis, was that they were collaborators, traitors and opportunists.

Children of Rage

In 1987, 14-year-old Aine Adams told her Irish Uncle Gerry, that his brother, her father Liam had abused her since she was four years old. He said he believed her. "She was always a very good wee girl; I just couldn't imagine a child like her making up such a serious allegation," he said

The British controlled media in Ireland, have been praising Adams's response, of talking about his own father's abuse when they were children. The important questions from a few genuine journalists, as to what exactly he has done for his niece or to protect other potential victims, in his capacity as President of Sinn Fein and Westminster MP, so far have produced nothing noteworthy.

From evidence in the public domain so far, for 20 odd years, he did almost nothing, until Aine forced the issue by going public. She informed Adams she had proven that there was a prima facie case to answer by agreeing to a police medical examination. Instead of support, Aine was pressed to stop using the British police. In 1995, Adams insisted that all abused Catholic boys and girls should refuse to talk to the RUC because the authorities used "these issues for their own militaristic ends".

It was fair to assume on this basis, that the republican movement under Adams would do what it traditionally always did, provide armed volunteers to watch suspected paedophiles, to protect boys and girls of West Belfast, Dundalk and all republican areas. He never delivered on his promise to Aine, though. Liam Adams left Belfast and went to work as a youth worker, in republican Dundalk and then back to republican Belfast's Clonard Monastery to work with youth again.

Adams said he informed the monastery about his brother. The Clonard Youth Centre informed the Irish Times it couldn't find any record of his warning. Managers at the youth centre in Dundalk said, that neither Gerry Adams nor the local Sinn Fein branch, of which Liam was chairperson, bothered to tell any of them that he should not be working with children. When Liam Adams remarried a photographer captured a beaming Gerry at the wedding.

Aine now believed that Adams wanted to shut her up and turn his "brother into the victim". As the scandal threatened Adams's political career, most of the British controlled media in Ireland tried to potray him as a victim as well. As a result the Irish Catholic middle class praised Adams. "Shut your gob," cried one. "Gerry Adams is a good man. This is a family matter and should be dealt with inside the family."

This all comes in the wake of the resignation of 5 Bishops for exactly the same behaviour as Gerry Adams. A 60 million inquiry into child abuse that produced a huge documented account, of more than 60 years of systemic state and church savagery, of rape and abuse. A multi billion award to victims paid by Irish taxpayers not the hugely wealthy Church.

Keeping child abuse under cover has seriously damaged Irish Catholicism but like Adams it still uses language of victimhood and persecution to deflect critical questions for child protection in ireland. Despite all the documente pain, time, effort and money the country is till in almost total denial of the scale of child rape in Ireland. The 35,000 victims so far identified is only the tip of the iceberg and the hardening attitudes are similar to the attitudes of the Catholic middle class in Hitler's Holocaust Europe, approval with silence and denial.

A few ethical journalists are criticising Adams for failing to protect children and accuse him of enabling and being an accomplice to further possible abuse with a cover up. Adams and McGuinness's party has a propaganda machine at work not just covering up child rape but also covering up the fact that the British police and army riddled their party with informers and double agents during the long war. While 5 bishops may resign, Adams remains totally oblivious to the seriousness of the matter.

Adams and McGuinness believe themselves with the support of the British controlled media in Ireland, immune from any negative comment because they accepted a power-sharing agreement that had been on the table since the Sunningdale talks of 1973. Thousands of dead in the intervening years disregarded, they remain the media's darlings.

The brutalisation of generations of working-class children and youth has produced the spectacle of Adams and McGuinness, the worst elements of Irish nationalism, embracing Unionist party policy, and dividing personal power between them. Sunningdale promised republicans a political platform to achieve justice. Adams and McGuinness hijacked that platform for their own personal advancement, to raise their own profile and then smother criticisms, such as child rape by members of their party and gain personal power and wealth on the backs of the ultimate sacrifices of the many, in another 30 years of a liberation struggle that followed the agreement.

British police now warn that support for republican groups is growing. A new generation says, that Adams and McGuinness betrayed the cause of irish freedom and that they will achieve liberation. The refusal of corrupted politicians and media in Ireland in general, to tell the real story of Adams and McGuinness, permits in the meantime, the injustices and barbarity of endemic child abuse to continue. It will delay the day of liberation and protection of Ireland's most vulnerable, from the savagery of occupation and perversions of sociopathic collaborators.

Adams and McGuinness Arrested ?

Why aren't they arrested for withholding evidence? How can someone who, with full knowledge of a belief in the paedophiliac activities of their brother, be allowed to walk free? Why aren't Provisional Sinn Fein and their President to be charged with facilitating paedophilia?

It's difficult to discuss the abuse of Irish children without referring to exactly what the sick perverted b*stards did to them. They frequently buggered children (inserting their penises into the anuses of young boys, mostly). They fondled, fingered and f*cked young boys and girls.
When they were caught they were called before scumbags and moved (with the complete knowledge of ********************) to other areas where they were free to continue their vile behaviour of child abuse, buggery, beatings, fingerings (both anal and vaginal), and they are still free with their enablers help to rape children.

Their enablers allowed them to move with full knowledge of their appalling behaviour, from area to area enabling them to continue with their sick paedophiliac activities. And the likes of McGuinness dares defend those enablers? McGuinness expects us to believe that he knew nothing of it, when every dog on a Muirhevnamor street knew it. They all should be locked up for life. If their friends in the British Police won't do it, then the Gardai should arrest them. Adams "the pervert-enabler' said he believed his brother was guilty and allowed him to roam the youth clubs in republican areas., facilitated perversions that he believed happened and they still haven't called for him to resign and now McGuinness excuses it ? Freaks like these have the country the way it is. Shame on all of them.

There is also organised sex rings, everyone is forgetting about those too. We know that organised child abuse is a frequent feature of paedophilia with a level of dictatorial control and secrecy and collusion enacted by the various parties to this in Ireland over the decades, it is simply not credible that this did not become organised how else did they get references to work in youth clubs. Where child abuse exists there is immediate danger to the life of children and the connection between child rape and child murder is always taken as a given possibility wherever child rape occurs in society when the issue of shame and secrecy occur. The determined refusal of the apologists for Gerry Adams to make the connection in the contemporary narrative of these events is preposterous.

There is a very high likelihood of organised paedophilia rings involving members of civil society as well as the clergy in Ireland in all of this. What we are watching in most of the media and politics at the moment is a whitewash, a whitewash every bit the same as the closing of ranks and collusion around the horrific events themselves. This is the irish middle class in action, they too are scum of the highest order.

Ask yourself this ? If you knew of a man who was abusing children and then moved him to another district (where he was looking after children) what would you expect us to believe when he re-offended? You would be directly responsible and up before the courts. Apparently not if you're a man who was a former republican, now asking people to accept the same British Police, who wouldn't prosecute you or your brother, into republican areas. Those lot who cannot see it, sicken me, the truth is beyond them. I am no legal expert, but surely there is law against knowingly covering up a crime you believe happened(several heinous crimes). It is time that people stood up and insisted that Adams is subject to the same laws as the rest of us.

Bottom line even after decades none of these perverted b*stards have been brought to justice by either Adams or McGuinness. They are simply complicit in the denial that has led to where Ireland is now. They can defend paedophile-enablers all they like but until such time that complete gobshytes like McGuinness admit there is a massive child rape problem, children will continue to be raped, abused and murdered. Proud of themselves ? Frankly I personally think they don't care about anything that gets in the way of their blind lust for personal power.

Adams and McGuinness Now Totally Depend on British for Power

A short time ago, the British police in occupied Ireland turned on Sunday Tribune editor Suzanne Breen. Breen was threatened with arrest and imprisonment unless she delivered her notes of all her contacts with republicans. The badgering of Breen, while her phone was already tapped by the British was a sign of panic.

An Ireland of Saints and Scholars Reduced to Child Rapists

Link to a Former Victim's Journey

Ireland the Breeding Ground for Child Rapists, a culture of denial and secrecy

Child rape is rampant in Ireland at the moment and so is its denial. It cuts right across political class and religious boundaries. It is an issue which is still being ignored across the whole Irish political spectrum, even in the wake of a 60 million euro, damning, report, that has led to the resignations of five bishops recently. Irishmen in particular are struggling with both their own and society's sexist macho male image, as they try to consider what it really is. A generally subservient infiltrated media by an occupying british monarchy, combined with religious elements of an old Roman empire, still keep the island's people in another dark era of dis-information and barbarity.

The Reality of Child Rape and Abuse

One persons's experience of being sexually assaulted as a child is described as follows.

There was the pain. A breaking and entering, when my senses were torn apart. The act of rape on my eight year-old body was like the story of the camel and the eye of the needle, a matter of the needle giving because the camel can't. My child gave because the body could and the mind of the violator could not.

Another person described the state of non-being after a sexual attack.

It took away all my dignity from my body, and from my soul. It is the ultimate invasion of privacy. There was nothing left. My whole body and all my feelings were displayed against my will.

The immediate results are horrific, complete violation of self has happened. A dirty feeling and a betrayal by a trusted adult. Feelings of confusion, humiliation, anger conflicting with guilt. Because of there being no choice but to submit, the child may also feel that she/he colluded. Confusion, along with threats of physical violence, lead to guilt, self-hate and the likelihood of secrecy. Often terms like sexual abuse, molestation, harassment, incest are really hiding the child rape reality. Apart from obvious physical damage, the emotional, sexual and psychological damage lasts a lifetime.

Child rape usually occurs in family. Children are depending on adults for almost everything, generally we live in a patriarchal society with a dominant male. A psychological dependency has developed among women on men, where women believe their means of fulfilment is serving a man. The man can manipulate this power to avoid exposure. A daughter may feel that any disclosure, would not only risk physical attack but she may responsible for the break-up of the family. Commonly she may not be believed.

Often the mother, proves inaccessible. Mothers may wish to remain in denial in order to keep up an image of a secure family, along with a fear of what happens to the family without a man to support them. Sometimes rhere is a belief that ultimately she is to blame, and a real fear of confronting rape within the home. A mother's self image as parent and a wife is shattered by her child's sexual abuse, accompanied by a fear of possible rape experienced by all women. Family denial has dire consequences for the victim.

The power difference of age and knowledge of emotional and sexual terms is baffling to a child . Often a child may not know what is going on but has an awareness of something being wrong. Unless children have the means to articulate their grievance against the adult, the abuse will continue.

The present nuclear family can be a deadly trap for children with men having various motives for committing such a violation? One suggests that the father, while placing his wife in the role of his punishing mother when their relationship changes, seeks intimacy elsewhere, usually a daughter. However, male sexuality in the modern world is increasingly alienated from any real emotion. A child rapist may well have been under the jackboot of exploitation himself as a child.

A Child Abuse Scandal in one of Ireland's Leading Political Families has generated the following questions. Incidentally there was just one leading newspaper, The Sunday Tribune, who did not participate in the general cover-up, yet few if any questions address the realities of the barbarous crime of Child Rape.

a)
A very sad affair with a number of questions needing answers. It beggars belief that Mr Adams was unaware of his brother's position in 'youth' work in Dundalk and that he did not intervene.

b)
How did Liam Adams remain a member of the republican movement while his brother Gerry knew about and apparently believed, the allegations against him.

c)
I find it very strange, that if the RUC were aware of the allegations and knew medical evidence was available, that Liam Adams was not arrested and prosecuted seveal years ago. It's even more strange that he was vetted and cleared for working in a youth club.

d)
Is the "Adams family" the reason Sinn fein have been so noticeably silent, regarding paedophile priests and their continuing roles in charge of Irish schools?

e)
Gerry Adams has stripped him self of any vestige of respectability, by covering up his brothers paedophilia for years He should resign forthwith as leader of sinn fein.

f)
The Gardai,FF,FG and now Sinn Fein .... have PROTECTED the biggest sex ring in European history involving the R.C fascist church.

g)
Did Gerry compromise the Republican movement when he covered up the acivities of his brother ... ?????

h)
What does Hugh Orde (Association Of Chief Police Officers) have to say on the matter - it is known that he discussed it with Gerry Adams ?

i)
What he names of those in charge of the 3 youth groups who Adams said he either warned or that he did not know about - who have now issued quietly published denials about being told anything about the allegations against Liam Adams? Who funds them - are they accountable?

j)
Why are Irish journalists almost without exception (Chris Moore/Suzanne Breen) allowing SF & the "Adams family "to fudge the issue and pretend Sally and Aine were even regarded as family let alone supported for over twenty years - when they were treated as troublesome outcasts????

k)
If five Bishops were forced to resign, for allowing exactly the same thing to happen with priests, as happened with Gerry Adams and his brother, why are the media, police, judicial system, political parties, turning a blind eye to the ongoing threat of well connected alleged paedophiles, a week after a 60 million euro report damned the whole country with its verdict of systemic abuse.

More Revelations in Ireland's Child Sex Scandal

L'Adamsgate video by MaryHedgehog

The story now dubbed L'Adamsgate, is in this writer's view, the biggest political scandal in Irish history. The story cuts to the bone of the machinery of Church and State in both parts of Ireland and the lack of real democracy in British occupied Ireland today. A genuine democracy of the people, is the only protection society's most vulnerable have against despots in the home and in government. The evolving L'Adamsgate story is strikingly similar to the emrging contradicting versions of Watergate but is deeply disturbing for most Irish people with deeply held political and religious beliefs in the wake of the resignations of five bishops, in a relatively small island. It strikes at the very core of the Irish character.

Today the L'Adamsgate scandal took a new turn with further revelations and statement by the parties involved.

a)
Gerry Adams did not tell the Sinn Fein leadership or Louth branch about the abuse allegations when he moved to expel his brother from the party in 1997

b)
For a number of years after 2000, Liam Adams was involved in "localised party work" in Belfast.

c)
He held several positions in a Sinn Fein branch in Andersonstown

d)
He became a branch chairperson in Lower Andersonstown in the heart of his brother's West Belfast constituency.

The brother whom Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams believed abused his own 13 year old daughter, worked for the party in Belfast after being forced out of Sinn Fein in the Republic over the allegations, Sinn Féin admitted today. Gerry Adams had previously claimed his brother had been dumped from Sinn Féin when archive photographs clearly show him still active in the party.

A report has been given to the party's ruling Ard Chomhairle this morning. The party chairman says: "The local organisation was unaware of the allegation against Liam Adams and the circumstances of his departure from Sinn Féin in Louth. Clearly his admission to the party in Belfast should have been avoided. Gerry Adams has informed the party that he was not aware of Liam Adams's involvement in party work at this time.

Sinn Féin TD for Louth Arthur Morgan has also said that although Liam Adams was a party member he was never an officer. After the Sunday Tribune published photographs which contradicted him. They show Mr Adams with his brother and Sinn Féin's Co Louth candidate in the General Election, published in a local newspaper in June1997.This week Mr Morgan TD now changes his story and says Mr Adams true role had "slipped his mind". Gerry Adam's now says he learned yesterday that his brother had worked in west Belfast, adding he should not have done so.

Despite earlier saying he gave orders to have his brother dumped from the party he now says, "Had I known that he was in Sinn Féin in Belfast I would have acted to have him leave the party, Sinn Féin did not know of the allegations against Liam Adams and did nothing wrong. There was no cover-up by Sinn Féin." Sinn Fein said previously that when their president "moved to ensure that Liam Adams did not go forward as a candidate" in 1997, he did so "without involving the party locally or nationally".

.

After Gerry Adams claimed he informed the party on his brother and ordered his expulsion, Liam Adams served initially as chair of the party's Louth district in 1996. He then moved back to Belfast and became chairperson of a Sinn Fein branch in the heart of his brother's west Belfast constituency, as well as chairperson, apparently without his brothers knowledge, the party now confirms that Liam Adams held "a number of positions" in the lower Andersonstown branch.

"The local organisation was unaware of the allegation against Liam Adams and the circumstances of his departure from Sinn Féin in Louth. Clearly his admission to the party in Belfast should have been avoided," a PSF statement says.
Strangely, Suzanne Breen, the northern editor of the Sunday Tribune newspaper, seems to know more about Sinn Fein's own procedures and regulations, than their own senior party members.

Ms. Breen says Mr Adams had broken his own party's rules.
"He could have said there were allegations against his brother, Liam," she said.
"Gerry Adams, by not doing so, has actually broken Sinn Fein's constitution which states when a member becomes aware of sexual allegations against another member they are bound to inform Sinn Fein's Ard Comhairle (party executive), Gerry Adams failed to do that."
Gerry Adams says he only found out on Thursday that his brother had re-involved himself with the party. Meanwhile young children in both parts of a divided Island remain totally vulnerable, to rape and abuse from a Church and States with proven track records of denial, abuse, child rape, secrets, lies, cover-ups, savagery and heartlessness.

Ireland's Shame

Link to Proper Journalism

We are asked to believe, that Gerry Adams, PSF President and MP for West Belfast, was not able to protect children in West Belfast, Dundalk or Donegal after his brother's 13 year old abused daughter asked for his help more than 21 years ago. Martin McGuinness deputy first minister, is photographed above with Liam Adams and it is inconceivable he wouldn't be aware of this whole matter. Children were the most vulnerable part of his constituency and they certainly remain vulnerable while Adams or McGuinness are in power.

Uncle Gerry admitted that he believed her all those years ago, which makes it inexplicable that his brother Liam was later allowed to work for several years with the young, in Adams's West Belfast constituency. If Gerry Adams's doesn't resign immediately like The bishops and the Robinsons, then I hope it doesn't fall to the Orange volunteers to have to burn him out of Belfast.

I understand his brother may be a sick man and that in an enlightened country, would be taken out of society immediately and given treatment for the safety of children and his own safety. I understand that Gerry Adams is human and makes mistakes like everyone else. However the denial of his failure in this instance and those around him, along with the arrogance of holding his senior positions is beyond belief and a disgrace of all senior members within his party that enable this to continue.

Ireland, its people and especially its children, deserve nothing less than his immediate resignation and a thorough criminal investigation of all collusion in this matter by the appropriate authority, whoever that may be. Anything less, after a 60 million euro inquiry and the recent resignation of 5 bishops, for exactly the same offence, is nothing short of a blind eye being shown to child rape and child abuse in Ireland. It is a mark of shame and disgrace on the formerly honourable name of Ireland, that will ring around the world for decades to come.

Modern Times

It is said we live in modern times,
In the civilised year of 'seventy nine,
But when I look around, all I see,
Is modern torture, pain, and hypocrisy.

In modern times little children die,
They starve to death, but who dares ask why?
And little girls without attire,
Run screaming, napalmed, through the night afire.

And while fat dictators sit upon their thrones,
Young children bury their parents' bones,
And secret police in the dead of night,
Electrocute the naked woman out of sight.

In the gutter lies the black man, dead,
And where the oil flows blackest, the street runs red,
And there was He who was born and came to be,
But lived and died without liberty.

As the bureaucrats, speculators and presidents alike,
Pin on their dirty, stinking, happy smiles tonight,
The lonely prisoner will cry out from within this tomb,
And tomorrow's wretch will leave its mother's womb!

- by Bobby Sands

BOBBY SANDS was twenty seven years old when he died on the sixty sixth day of hunger-strike in the H-Block prison hospital, Long Kesh, on the 5th May 1981. The young IRA Volunteer who had spent almost the last nine years of his short life in prison as a result of his Irish republican activities was, by the time of his death, world-famous having been elected to the british parliament and having withstood pressures, political and moral including an emissary from Pope John Paul II , for him to abandon his fast which was aimed at countering a criminalisation policy by the british government. His name became a household word in Ireland, and his sacrifice as did that of those who followed him overturned british propaganda on Ireland and had real effect in advancing the cause of Irish freedom.

A Society as Sick as its Secrets

Traditional republicans want Gerry Adams to resign because of his
role in protecting a brother whom he believes guilty of raping his
daughter. Why they ask, isn't he being officially charged for his role in
covering up of the alleged crime, that he himself believes happened?

Ireland is still coming to terms with the fact that all of the State's
apparatus, politicians, police, health services, media, shielded
paedophile priests from investigation, systemically for decades. Now,
the man once seen as a leader of a liberation war in Ireland, stands
accused of the same crime as the bishops who resigned, for failing to
to protect children from sexual abuse. It's a very serious charge that
could finish his political career, in a country where the Irish
Republican Army has shot suspected child abusers in the past.

Ireland has again been outraged by the revelations that Gerry Adams
knew of the sexual abuse complaints against his brother for 22 years
but like the priests shifted him from parish to parish, Adams brother
moved from republican area to republican area and the parents in
those areas are angriest of all. Yet Adams shrugs off calls for his
resignation, in the same way Catholic Church leaders evaded criticism
on the paedophilia issue for decades, while still posturing with
lordly authority in the process.

What has now happened, is that it's not just Adams or his decisions
that are being questioned but it's the underlying ethos of Sinn Fein
itself, as the perception was cultivated over decades that the two are
the same thing. The scandal shows the extent to which child abusers
and their accomplices have been allowed to essentially ignore the law,
and raises real questions about any sort of genuine democracy in
Ireland at all and what kind of culture facilitated such crimes.

Whether Adams resigns or not is still not clear. What is already clear
though, is that he should be prosecuted as an accomplice in his
brother's alleged crimes. Martin McGuinness's role in all of this,
needs to be questioned too. It's inconceivable that he was not aware
of all of this in a close knit community.

Generally the Irish media, in its reluctance to ask the tough
questions or consider the reasons for the prevalence of paedophilia in
Ireland, is again repeating its willingness, post the 60 million Euro
inquiry, to shelter and cover up paedophilia. All of the enablers,
politicians, police, newsroom editors, health officials are once again
creating a safe haven for child sexual abuse, if not a breeding ground
for it in Ireland.Until accomplices and enablers to this horrific
crime are imprisoned, the brutal abuse will go on.

When it is understood that the crime of child abuse, is a sexual
compulsion which, like all compulsions as in drug addiction, it
follows a recurring pattern, with the need for child rape building up
again after each offence, it doesn't matter how sorry the offender is.
Part of the addiction for sexual child predators is the illegal nature
of their desire. The child rapist, addiction is a thrill of
committing the crime in an atmosphere of the forbidden? Thus without
organized action the pattern of abuse will continue as surely as night
follows day.

The proper questions are not being asked by mainstream Irish media
reports on the scandal. In fact, in the L'Adamsgate affair a few short
weeks after the publication of the report, they are not being asked at
all. Neither is it just a question of lazy journalism, more like
career journalism of not stepping on the toes of the establishment.
Whatever the reasons, there is no mystery about what Gerry Adams did
and did not do in Belfast, in response to charges against Liam Adams.
I honestly don't understand why Gerry Adams hasn't been charged as an
accomplice to crimes he himself mantains happened.

Even looked at in the most charitable light, Adam's actions have been
callous. How can he, or any official who has covered up allegations of
abuse, be said to have demonstrated any concern for the children ? His
mealy-mouthed statements of regret show no awareness that he should
have shown responsibility towards children in Dundalk. There is no
reason to think that Adams showed any more concern for the children in
West Belfast or Dundalk than did the bishops who evaded
responsibility. What a philosophy for a liberation politician?

Has the media or the politicians recognized the necessity of new laws
in the wake of the report ? Other than the blasphemy Law enacted this
year, which further protects the church, nothing. Indeed many would
argue that were the blasphemy laws in place, the Catholic Church would
have been totally protected against the original complaints of child
sex abuse. So the extraordinary privilege the church and politicians
enjoy with regard to pedophilia, still exists.

What's been oddest about the Adam's case is Sinn Fein itself, doesn't
seem to recognize the utter depravity and brutality of the crime. The
question now is, do his prosecutor colleagues of the six occupied
counties, have the guts to put Adams on trial, instead of bowing and
scraping to him to keep his community quiet with McGuinness's help?

There is widespread national support, among traditional republicans to
report evidence of child abuse to the appropriate authority which
includes republicans in times of liberation wars. How is it that for
so long, Adams has escaped this and been allowed to make his own rules
for dealing with his paedophile brother ?. In the wake of a damning
report that has disgraced Ireland worldwide the authorities have to
demonstrate that they are willing to act on officials who cover up, no
matter how high up they are..

A political party or its president that believes in the human
sacrifice of Irish children for its own ends should not be allowed to
carry out that policy. An elected official that has sacrificed the
spirits of children to protect a public image has to suffer the
consequences. It's time for everyone involved to do their jobs and
finally take responsibility. Prosecute both the Adams brothers NOW and
demand truthful answers immediately from deputy first minister
McGuinness.

Count Adams is Blasphemy in the Irish Free State

Unpixelated filth provokes proscription.of the mention of Count Adams
in the Irish Free State.

The Government has announced plans to ban the Catholic Church after RTE
aired graphic scenes of its members engaged in a highly inappropriate group
activity at a funeral of one of its top Bishops who didn't resign
before he died.Members of the Catholic Church including Count Adams
and Mullah McGuinness were pictured
shamelessly professing their faith in an omnipotent Christian god who
“loves all of mankind except children”.

As soon as the footage aired, RTE was inundated with thousands of
complaints. One caller’s views were typical: “I had just sat down in
front of the TV with all of my family and suddenly the screen was filled
with this massive prrick. I think he said his name was Father or Count
Adams. There
was no warning and he wasn’t even pixelated. My grandmother could have
been watching, but thankfully she died several years ago.”

Count Adams, part of the Catholic monarchy, defended the event thus: “We live
in a free society. If these people don’t want to watch one of our
Bishop child abuse enablers being buried, why don’t they just do the
logical thing and switch to another channel. Haven’t they got
anything better to do with their time than sit around complaining?
Jaysus foc*king Chrrist!”

However, as the number of complaints climbed to over a million, the
Mullah for Stormont against dissident journalists, announced that it
would be
taking action against any sort of journalism after seeing a copy of
the new free State Blasphemy Laws.
“As for this Child Abuse Inquiry document is utterly obscene. I’ve
never seen anything like it: just pages and pages of cunts and as for
the Inquiry into child abuse it’s just a
collection of mother-foc*kers. I can’t see any justification for there
being that number of cunts in one place so we have no option but to
recommend that journalism be closed down immediately in the Irish
Free State.”

Last night, as RTE logged its ten billionth complaint (from a
tribeswoman in the Amazonian jungle) the Catholic Church remained
defiant. An upbeat Lord Londonderry said: “We shall fight on. You
cannot silence us. Opinions are like arseholes everyone's got one but
there is only Pope and one Count Adams.
If I get my way we’re going to be the only church on the block and
the Protestant's, Dissenters and Dissidents can go fuck themselves!

If any of you have a problem with this, I'll have the Gardai arrest
you under the new Blasphemy Law.”

Count Adams angrily added that there are fuckers who are even claim
that our beloved land is tonight under threat from a wave of
Puritanism so virulent that it is nothing short of a fatwa, or even a
jihad, possibly but you can ask Mullah McGuinness about that I prefer
to call it a mini Crusade: a sort of a Holy War but these godless
communists who printed the 25 blasphemies are absolute bastards.

When on hack suggested that Count Adams had dropped the O in his name
recently he was told to fock off and interview the fuckers who printed
the following 25 blasphemies.

Atheist Ireland Publishes 25 Blasphemous Quotes
Filed under: Atheist Ireland, Campaign, Freedom of Speech, Is this
Blasphemy?, Quotes — Michael Nugent @ 12:33 am

From today, 1 January 2010, the new Irish blasphemy law becomes
operational, and we begin our campaign to have it repealed. Blasphemy
is now a crime punishable by a €25,000 fine. The new law defines
blasphemy as publishing or uttering matter that is grossly abusive or
insulting in relation to matters held sacred by any religion, thereby
intentionally causing outrage among a substantial number of adherents
of that religion, with some defences permitted.

This new law is both silly and dangerous. It is silly because medieval
religious laws have no place in a modern secular republic, where the
criminal law should protect people and not ideas. And it is dangerous
because it incentives religious outrage, and because Islamic States
led by Pakistan are already using the wording of this Irish law to
promote new blasphemy laws at UN level.

We believe in the golden rule: that we have a right to be treated
justly, and that we have a responsibility to treat other people
justly. Blasphemy laws are unjust: they silence people in order to
protect ideas. In a civilised society, people have a right to to
express and to hear ideas about religion even if other people find
those ideas to be outrageous.

Publication of 25 blasphemous quotes

In this context we now publish a list of 25 blasphemous quotes, which
have previously been published by or uttered by or attributed to Jesus
Christ, Muhammad, Mark Twain, Tom Lehrer, Randy Newman, James Kirkup,
Monty Python, Rev Ian Paisley, Conor Cruise O’Brien, Frank Zappa,
Salman Rushdie, Bjork, Amanda Donohoe, George Carlin, Paul Woodfull,
Jerry Springer the Opera, Tim Minchin, Richard Dawkins, Pope Benedict
XVI, Christopher Hitchens, PZ Myers, Ian O’Doherty, Cardinal Cormac
Murphy-O’Connor and Dermot Ahern.

Despite these quotes being abusive and insulting in relation to
matters held sacred by various religions, we unreservedly support the
right of these people to have published or uttered them, and we
unreservedly support the right of any Irish citizen to make comparable
statements about matters held sacred by any religion without fear of
being criminalised, and without having to prove to a court that a
reasonable person would find any particular value in the statement.

Campaign begins to repeal the Irish blasphemy law

We ask Fianna Fail and the Green Party to repeal their anachronistic
blasphemy law, as part of the revision of the Defamation Act that is
included within the Act. We ask them to hold a referendum to remove
the reference to blasphemy from the Irish Constitution.

We also ask all TDs and Senators to support a referendum to remove
references to God from the Irish Constitution, including the clauses
that prevent atheists from being appointed as President of Ireland or
as a Judge without swearing a religious oath asking God to direct them
in their work.

If you run a website, blog or other media publication, please feel
free to republish this statement and the list of quotes yourself, in
order to show your support for the campaign to repeal the Irish
blasphemy law and to promote a rational, ethical, secular Ireland.

List of 25 Blasphemous Quotes Published by Atheist Ireland

1. Jesus Christ, when asked if he was the son of God, in Matthew
26:64: “Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall
ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming
in the clouds of heaven.” According to the Christian Bible, the Jewish
chief priests and elders and council deemed this statement by Jesus to
be blasphemous, and they sentenced Jesus to death for saying it.

2. Jesus Christ, talking to Jews about their God, in John 8:44: “Ye
are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do.
He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth,
because there is no truth in him.” This is one of several chapters in
the Christian Bible that can give a scriptural foundation to Christian
anti-Semitism. The first part of John 8, the story of “whoever is
without sin cast the first stone”, was not in the original version,
but was added centuries later. The original John 8 is a debate between
Jesus and some Jews. In brief, Jesus calls the Jews who disbelieve him
sons of the Devil, the Jews try to stone him, and Jesus runs away and
hides.

3. Muhammad, quoted in Hadith of Bukhari, Vol 1 Book 8 Hadith 427:
“May Allah curse the Jews and Christians for they built the places of
worship at the graves of their prophets.” This quote is attributed to
Muhammad on his death-bed as a warning to Muslims not to copy this
practice of the Jews and Christians. It is one of several passages in
the Koran and in Hadith that can give a scriptural foundation to
Islamic anti-Semitism, including the assertion in Sura 5:60 that Allah
cursed Jews and turned some of them into apes and swine.

4. Mark Twain, describing the Christian Bible in Letters from the
Earth, 1909: “Also it has another name - The Word of God. For the
Christian thinks every word of it was dictated by God. It is full of
interest. It has noble poetry in it; and some clever fables; and some
blood-drenched history; and some good morals; and a wealth of
obscenity; and upwards of a thousand lies… But you notice that when
the Lord God of Heaven and Earth, adored Father of Man, goes to war,
there is no limit. He is totally without mercy - he, who is called the
Fountain of Mercy. He slays, slays, slays! All the men, all the
beasts, all the boys, all the babies; also all the women and all the
girls, except those that have not been deflowered. He makes no
distinction between innocent and guilty… What the insane Father
required was blood and misery; he was indifferent as to who furnished
it.” Twain’s book was published posthumously in 1939. His daughter,
Clara Clemens, at first objected to it being published, but later
changed her mind in 1960 when she believed that public opinion had
grown more tolerant of the expression of such ideas. That was half a
century before Fianna Fail and the Green Party imposed a new blasphemy
law on the people of Ireland.

5. Tom Lehrer, The Vatican Rag, 1963: “Get in line in that
processional, step into that small confessional. There, the guy who’s
got religion’ll tell you if your sin’s original. If it is, try playing
it safer, drink the wine and chew the wafer. Two, four, six, eight,
time to transubstantiate!”

6. Randy Newman, God’s Song, 1972: “And the Lord said: I burn down
your cities - how blind you must be. I take from you your children,
and you say how blessed are we. You all must be crazy to put your
faith in me. That’s why I love mankind.”

7. James Kirkup, The Love That Dares to Speak its Name, 1976: “While
they prepared the tomb I kept guard over him. His mother and the
Magdalen had gone to fetch clean linen to shroud his nakedness. I was
alone with him… I laid my lips around the tip of that great cock, the
instrument of our salvation, our eternal joy. The shaft, still
throbbed, anointed with death’s final ejaculation.” This extract is
from a poem that led to the last successful blasphemy prosecution in
Britain, when Denis Lemon was given a suspended prison sentence after
he published it in the now-defunct magazine Gay News. In 2002, a
public reading of the poem, on the steps of St. Martin-in-the-Fields
church in Trafalgar Square, failed to lead to any prosecution. In
2008, the British Parliament abolished the common law offences of
blasphemy and blasphemous libel.

8. Matthias, son of Deuteronomy of Gath, in Monty Python’s Life of
Brian, 1979: “Look, I had a lovely supper, and all I said to my wife
was that piece of halibut was good enough for Jehovah.”

9. Rev Ian Paisley MEP to the Pope in the European Parliament, 1988:
“I denounce you as the Antichrist.” Paisley’s website describes the
Antichrist as being “a liar, the true son of the father of lies, the
original liar from the beginning… he will imitate Christ, a diabolical
imitation, Satan transformed into an angel of light, which will
deceive the world.”

10. Conor Cruise O’Brien, 1989: “In the last century the Arab thinker
Jamal al-Afghani wrote: ‘Every Muslim is sick and his only remedy is
in the Koran.’ Unfortunately the sickness gets worse the more the
remedy is taken.”

11. Frank Zappa, 1989: “If you want to get together in any exclusive
situation and have people love you, fine - but to hang all this
desperate sociology on the idea of The Cloud-Guy who has The Big Book,
who knows if you’ve been bad or good - and cares about any of it - to
hang it all on that, folks, is the chimpanzee part of the brain
working.”

12. Salman Rushdie, 1990: “The idea of the sacred is quite simply one
of the most conservative notions in any culture, because it seeks to
turn other ideas - uncertainty, progress, change - into crimes.” In
1989, Ayatollah Khomeini of Iran issued a fatwa ordering Muslims to
kill Rushdie because of blasphemous passages in Rushdie’s novel The
Satanic Verses.

13. Bjork, 1995: “I do not believe in religion, but if I had to choose
one it would be Buddhism. It seems more livable, closer to men… I’ve
been reading about reincarnation, and the Buddhists say we come back
as animals and they refer to them as lesser beings. Well, animals
aren’t lesser beings, they’re just like us. So I say fuck the
Buddhists.”

14. Amanda Donohoe on her role in the Ken Russell movie Lair of the
White Worm, 1995: “Spitting on Christ was a great deal of fun. I can’t
embrace a male god who has persecuted female sexuality throughout the
ages, and that persecution still goes on today all over the world.”

15. George Carlin, 1999: “Religion easily has the greatest bullshit
story ever told. Think about it. Religion has actually convinced
people that there’s an invisible man living in the sky who watches
everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man
has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if
you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire
and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you
to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and
ever ’til the end of time! But He loves you. He loves you, and He
needs money! He always needs money! He’s all-powerful, all-perfect,
all-knowing, and all-wise, somehow just can’t handle money! Religion
takes in billions of dollars, they pay no taxes, and they always need
a little more. Now, talk about a good bullshit story. Holy Shit!”

16. Paul Woodfull as Ding Dong Denny O’Reilly, The Ballad of Jaysus
Christ, 2000: “He said me ma’s a virgin and sure no one disagreed,
Cause they knew a lad who walks on water’s handy with his feet… Jaysus
oh Jaysus, as cool as bleedin’ ice, With all the scrubbers in Israel
he could not be enticed, Jaysus oh Jaysus, it’s funny you never rode,
Cause it’s you I do be shoutin’ for each time I shoot me load.”

17. Jesus Christ, in Jerry Springer The Opera, 2003: “Actually, I’m a
bit gay.” In 2005, the Christian Institute tried to bring a
prosecution against the BBC for screening Jerry Springer the Opera,
but the UK courts refused to issue a summons.

18. Tim Minchin, Ten-foot Cock and a Few Hundred Virgins, 2005: “So
you’re gonna live in paradise, With a ten-foot cock and a few hundred
virgins, So you’re gonna sacrifice your life, For a shot at the
greener grass, And when the Lord comes down with his shiny rod of
judgment, He’s gonna kick my heathen ass.”

19. Richard Dawkins in The God Delusion, 2006: “The God of the Old
Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction:
jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a
vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic,
racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential,
megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.” In
2007 Turkish publisher Erol Karaaslan was charged with the crime of
insulting believers for publishing a Turkish translation of The God
Delusion. He was acquitted in 2008, but another charge was brought in
2009. Karaaslan told the court that “it is a right to criticise
religions and beliefs as part of the freedom of thought and
expression.”

20. Pope Benedict XVI quoting a 14th century Byzantine emperor, 2006:
“Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new and there you will
find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by
the sword the faith he preached.” This statement has already led to
both outrage and condemnation of the outrage. The Organisation of the
Islamic Conference, the world’s largest Muslim body, said it was a
“character assassination of the prophet Muhammad”. The Malaysian Prime
Minister said that “the Pope must not take lightly the spread of
outrage that has been created.” Pakistan’s foreign Ministry
spokesperson said that “anyone who describes Islam as a religion as
intolerant encourages violence”. The European Commission said that
“reactions which are disproportionate and which are tantamount to
rejecting freedom of speech are unacceptable.”

21. Christopher Hitchens in God is not Great, 2007: “There is some
question as to whether Islam is a separate religion at all… Islam when
examined is not much more than a rather obvious and ill-arranged set
of plagiarisms, helping itself from earlier books and traditions as
occasion appeared to require… It makes immense claims for itself,
invokes prostrate submission or ‘surrender’ as a maxim to its
adherents, and demands deference and respect from nonbelievers into
the bargain. There is nothing-absolutely nothing-in its teachings that
can even begin to justify such arrogance and presumption.”

22. PZ Myers, on the Roman Catholic communion host, 2008: “You would
not believe how many people are writing to me, insisting that these
horrible little crackers (they look like flattened bits of styrofoam)
are literally pieces of their god, and that this omnipotent being who
created the universe can actually be seriously harmed by some
third-rate liberal intellectual at a third-rate university… However,
inspired by an old woodcut of Jews stabbing the host, I thought of a
simple, quick thing to do: I pierced it with a rusty nail (I hope
Jesus’s tetanus shots are up to date). And then I simply threw it in
the trash, followed by the classic, decorative items of trash cans
everywhere, old coffeegrounds and a banana peel.”

23. Ian O’Doherty, 2009: “(If defamation of religion was illegal) it
would be a crime for me to say that the notion of transubstantiation
is so ridiculous that even a small child should be able to see the
insanity and utter physical impossibility of a piece of bread and some
wine somehow taking on corporeal form. It would be a crime for me to
say that Islam is a backward desert superstition that has no place in
modern, enlightened Europe and it would be a crime to point out that
Jewish settlers in Israel who believe they have a God given right to
take the land are, frankly, mad. All the above assertions will, no
doubt, offend someone or other.”

24. Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor, 2009: “Whether a person is
atheist or any other, there is in fact in my view something not
totally human if they leave out the transcendent… we call it God… I
think that if you leave that out you are not fully human.” Because
atheism is not a religion, the Irish blasphemy law does not protect
atheists from abusive and insulting statements about their fundamental
beliefs. While atheists are not seeking such protection, we include
the statement here to point out that it is discriminatory that this
law does not hold all citizens equal.

25. Dermot Ahern, Irish Minister for Justice, introducing his
blasphemy law at an Oireachtas Justice Committee meeting, 2009, and
referring to comments made about him personally: “They are
blasphemous.” Deputy Pat Rabbitte replied: “Given the Minister’s
self-image, it could very well be that we are blaspheming,” and
Minister Ahern replied: “Deputy Rabbitte says that I am close to the
baby Jesus, I am so pure.” So here we have an Irish Justice Minister
joking about himself being blasphemed, at a parliamentary Justice
Committee discussing his own blasphemy law, that could make his own
jokes illegal.

Finally, as a bonus, Micheal Martin, Irish Minister for Foreign
Affairs, opposing attempts by Islamic States to make defamation of
religion a crime at UN level, 2009: “We believe that the concept of
defamation of religion is not consistent with the promotion and
protection of human rights. It can be used to justify arbitrary
limitations on, or the denial of, freedom of expression. Indeed,
Ireland considers that freedom of expression is a key and inherent
element in the manifestation of freedom of thought and conscience and
as such is complementary to freedom of religion or belief.” Just
months after Minister Martin made this comment, his colleague Dermot
Ahern introduced Ireland’s new blasphemy law.

Soundbites on Adam's Child Rape Controversy

"But I also hold the very strong view that republicans need to lead by
example."
Quote - Gerry Adams

Gerry Adams the master of vacuous soundbites has himself generated
more than a few recently

"Gerry Adams is a Liar " more than 20 publications have said thia.

"As a Catholic, albeit one who has much difficulty with many of the
religion's tenets, I am shocked and ashamed by this particular cover-up."

"While I sympathise to a certain extent with sincere Catholics who
refuse to acknowledge the perverted crimes of so many you should be aware
that your wilful ignorance of these criminal acts puts yet more
children at risk even now. There comes a point where deliberate
refusal to see the facts makes an accomplice of even the most decent
of people.
My faith and the sanctity of a child's innocence come first for me."

"They were assisted by the " GARDA "police force of Ireland:' to rape,
terrorise, and destroy innocent children's lives:
What they have done in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ who died on
the cross to save us all, is beyond words.
Sorry if i hurt your feelings, but the truth is a hard pill to swallow."

"The arrogance is astounding. would Jesus think this was
representative of his church or would he condemn them. By their fruits
you shall know them Jesus says anyone who causes a child to sin it
would be better if he had never been born."

Their management style is dogmatic, autocratic and keep mouth shut and
do as you are told; 'we are not here to answer your questions, so
don't accuse us of anything, we are whiter than white. This style of
management went out with Noah's Ark, in their eyes they are
accountable to no-one.

"As a Roman Catholic and as an American..I'm deeply ashamed at the
bowing and grovelling being shown to this horrible man. He gave a
speech the other day "apologizing" for the abuse..as if he hadn't had
such a part in protecting the abuser. A large spittle hung
in the right corner of his lying, duplicitous mouth. He is the devil
incarnate in patent leather gucci."

" Catholics and Republicans who close their eyes to this awful tragedy
are doing their beliefs no good. Reform it and fix it. Expose
the demons before nothing is left. Sadly"

Gerry Adams facilitated this cover-up and endangered children for
decades by not fulfilling his responsibilities, to ensure the
protection of children in West Belfast and  Muirhevnamor, places that
republican law was applied equally to all and allowing his brother to
be beyond the reach of parents who entrusted Adams with leadership
responsibilities, that included the protection of their children.

Failure to report suspected abuse is against the law and harms
children. Every state has laws that require responsible citizens to
report suspected child abuse to the appropriate law enforcement agency
or child protective service. In Adams case the IRA.  When
circumstances suggest a reasonable suspicion that a child could be a
victim of abuse, a report is required. It is not the job of the
"mandatory reporter" to investigate the facts in these cases. The law
simply directs them to file a report with a law enforcement agency or
child protective service whenever facts might suggest a reasonable
suspicion of abuse.

Mandatory reporters are not permitted to pick and choose which cases
they will report based on their personal opinion. Those who may feel
that there is nothing wrong with adult-child sex cannot simply pretend
child rape is merely consensual sex. By law, an underage girl cannot
consent to sex. Nor does the law allow a mandatory reporter to decide
whether or not a report should be filed based on the statements of the
child, because cover stories are often concocted to cover up cases of
abuse.

Failure to comply with child abuse reporting laws is a criminal
offense and it is also a felony to assist in perpetrating the ongoing
abuse of a child. If an elected official facilitates child abuse by
their failure to report, the victim and/or her parents may be able to
recover damages against them."

"Given his choice to turn a blind eye to known sexual abuse, the
operator could be targeted not only for obstructing justice by
covering up the crimes, but perhaps even as an ongoing accomplice to
them."

Rev Thomas Doyle, a US Air Force chaplain in Germany and a specialist
in Church law, has said, ‘There are too many authenticated reports of
victims having been seriously intimidated into silence to assert that
such intimidation is the exception and not the norm.’

"And so Adams has visited the sins of the father upon the whole of
Ireland and more particularly republicanism?"
