Described by Wikipaedia as follows: “Pussy Riot is a Russian feminist punk-rock collective that stages politically provocative impromptu performances in Moscow, on subjects such as the status of women in Russia, and most recently against the election campaign of Prime Minister Putin for president of Russia.”* In particular, they seem to dislike like that Putin has made an informal political alliance or understanding with the leadership of the Russian Orthodox Church."

As you probably already know Pussy Riot were sentenced yesterday after a trail, to two years in prison for their now-famous anti-Vladimir Putin cathedral performance in Moscow. So let's try and compare what’s happening in Russia to these women, to what we would expect would happen to them, if they were Irish and had done a similar thing in British Occupied Ireland where Marian Price is currently interned without trial, for holding up a piece of paper on a windy day in Derry at an Easter commemoration. Two judges and the Queen have already ordered her release but the unelected english Vice royal has ordered she be interned without trial. Marian has since spent more 15 months incarcerated and almost a year with sensory deprivation of solitary torture and is currently on her death bed in a Belfast hospital, with the threat of assassination hanging over her by a British death squad.

We have witnessed the treatment of Sinead O'Connor, who as a result of tearing up a picture of the pope because of child rape who was then ostracized and her career destroyed. So if Pussy Riot were to have their craic say in St Anne's Cathedral in Belfast it is highly likely that like Marian, they would not even get a trial as they have in Russia or they would in China, but would instead be shot by the British. Not directly with one of their SAS teams as they did with Mairead Farrell but behind the cover of one of their sponsored loyalist hit squads, as they did with the leading human rights lawyer Rosemary Nelson, whom the British murdered with a bomb under her car.

That's serious enough but were Pussy Riot to have their craic in say the principal Free Presbyterian Church of Ian Paisley, Iris Robinson and her husband Peter's congregation and partake in drinking from their mutual furry cups, all hell would break loose. Were Pussy Riot to attempt to introduce Iris to sapphic love or sleep and have the craic with her in the Free Presbyterian Church, I believe pleasuring Iris, particularly as Pussy Riot are women themselves, then certainly it would be regarded as more than just hooligan behaviour by Ulsters God fearing loyalists and their Vice royal pervert of justice. The fires of Ulsters twelfth Hell wold be the resting place of all the Rioting Pussies.

Pussy Riot are indeed no slouch in the girl-on-girl department craic, according to one fenian furry cup guru. "It tends to be the case that normal lesbians or bisexual moles may not perhaps be as well endowed as some unrepentant lesbian fenian barstewards in the phwoaaar department but Free Presbyterians tend to make indifferent lovers. Wives of the horsey foxhunting set on the other hand, particularly those with experience riding in gay Mongolia, can lead a whimpering foxy wife of a Unionist or Tory politician, to a shattering climax within seconds, before continuing to work the trembling wives of the orange order for days, if not weeks. However as I expressed my doubts to the fenian lesbians, they became increasingly agitated and insisted, I had completely missed the point. The debate became increasingly acrimonious until, incredibly, the furious fenian lesbians pulled down their shorts and proceeded to urinate onto two expensive loyalist communion cups to make their point.

CENSORED IN BRITISH OCCUPIED IRELAND

ZULU BLACK AND TANS OF SOUTH AFRICA

The Black and Tans  are one of several paramilitary units employed by the British in Ireland  as Temporary Constables from 1920 to today to suppress revolution in Ireland, the other bodies being the auxiliaries, the RIC, the RUC and currently the PSNI. Composed largely of British veterans and criminals released from prison, the unit's nickname comes from the colour of their improvised uniforms initially worn by its original members up util the PSNI of today. Established to target the Irish Republican Army, the Black and Tans have become notorious through their numerous attacks on the defencelss Irish civilian population. As can be seen from the events of yesterday the Zulus referred to in the song below, also have their own Black and Tans. Britain created the original concentration camp in their occupation of South Africa and murdered 26,000 women and children alone in the camps, There were many blacks murdered but they just didn't bother to count them. As of earlier today they still don;t bother to properly cont their victims. Marian price along with her comrades interned without trial in Ireland today are the inheritors of this British legacy of concentration camps they passed on to the Nazi's and the Gitmo of their partner today.

Lonmin plc (LSELMIJSELOLMI), formerly Lonrho plc, is a producer of platinumgroup metals operating in the Bushveld Complex of South Africa. It is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index. Its registered office is inLondon, and its operational headquarters are in Johannesburg, South Africa.[3]

The Company was incorporated in the United Kingdom on 13 May 1909 as the London and Rhodesian Mining and Land Company Limited.[4]

Businessman Tiny Rowland was recruited as chief executive in 1962.[5] For many years during the second half of the twentieth century it was frequently in the news, not only due to the politically-sensitive part of the world in which it had mining businesses, but also – as it strove to become a conglomerate not wholly dependent on these businesses – in a number of takeover battles, most notably for the Harrods of Knightsbridge department store.[5]
In 1968, Lonrho acquired Ashanti Goldfields Corporation, a gold mining business inGhana.[6] The former Conservative minister Duncan Sandys, a director of Ashanti, became Lonrho's chairman in 1972.[7]
During the 80s, Lonrho entered the British newspaper market, buying the Sunday newspaper The Observer in 1981[8] and the newly launched daily Today in 1986.[9] Today was sold to News International the following year,[10] while the Guardian Media Group bought the Observer in 1993.[8]
Sir Angus Ogilvy, married to a member of the British royal family (Princess Alexandra), was a Lonrho director and this increased media interest in the company's affairs. Ogilvy's career ended when Lonrho was involved in a sanctions-busting scandal concerning trade with Rhodesia. Prime Minister, Edward Heath, criticised the company, describing it in the House of Commons in 1973 as "an unpleasant and unacceptable face of capitalism."[11]
Tiny Rowland was finally ejected from Lonrho in October 1993 after a boardroom tussle with director Dieter Bock.[12]
Two months before Rowland's death (on 26 July 1998) the assets of Lonrho were demerged. Two publicly listed companies, Lonrho plc and Lonrho Africa plc were created – the former retaining all the non-African businesses and mining assets.[13] In 1999 Lonrho plc was renamed as Lonmin plc and a new era as a focused mining company began.[14] Since then it has divested itself of all non-core assets.
In late 2008 CEO Brad Mills announced his intention to resign from his position, and Lonmin indicated that former chief strategic officer responsible for the company’s business development, Ian Farmer, would replace him.[15] This could be viewed as a positive development, as Farmer has more experience in the platinum industry. Mills leaves behind a "significant contribution in developing the company over the past four years" according to chairperson, Sir John Craven, as his introduction of mechanized mining has increased safety for the miners, as well as increasing productivity.[16]
Xstrata has retained a 24.9% stake in Lonmin, following a failed takeover bid in 2008.[17]

Mine "bloodbath" shocks post-apartheid S.Africa By Jon Herskovitz

MARIKANA, South Africa (Reuters) - The police killing of 34 striking platinum miners in the bloodiest security operation since the end of white rule cut to the quick of South Africa's psyche on Friday, with searching questions asked of its post-apartheid soul.
By Jon Herskovitz

Newspaper headlines screamed "Bloodbath", "Killing Field" and "Mine Slaughter", with graphic photographs of heavily armed white and black police officers walking casually past the bloodied corpses of black men lying crumpled in the dust.

The images, along with Reuters television footage of a phalanx of officers opening up with automatic weapons on a small group of men in blankets and t-shirts, rekindled uncomfortable memories of South Africa's racist past.

Police chief Riah Phiyega confirmed 34 dead and 78 injured after officers moved in against 3,000 striking drill operators armed with machetes and sticks and massed on a rocky outcrop at the mine, 100 km (60 miles) northwest of Johannesburg.

Phiyega, a former banking executive who was only appointed to lead the police force in June, said officers had acted in self-defence against charging, armed assailants at Lonmin's Marikana platinum plant.

"The police members had to employ force to protect themselves from the charging group," she told a news conference, noting that two policemen had been hacked to death by a mob at the mine on Tuesday.

However, the South African Institute of Race relations likened the incident to the 1960 Sharpeville township massacre near Johannesburg, when apartheid police opened fire on a crowd of black protesters, killing more than 50.

"Obviously the issues that have led to this are not the same as the past, but the response and the outcome is very similar," research manager Lucy Holborn told Reuters.

Interned Marian Price Murdered by British Like Maire Drumm? Censored ?

Internment or Assassination ?

"The only people worthy of freedom are those who are prepared to go out and fight for it every day, and die if necessary." Maire Drumm, assassinated by British sponsored loyalists while in Belfast's Mater Hospital.

40 years after being featured on TIME magazine as Ulster's Price Sisters; Breaking the Long Fast, Dolours and Marian Price are still in the news with Dolours now dragged into the row over the Boston Tapes, while her sister Marian is interned without trial and at the centre of growing international protests for her release, with great concern about her physical health of pneumonia and considerable psychological damage, after almost a year of sensory deprivation torture and currently almost more than a year interned without trial.

Marian Price was interned last year by the unelected vice royal Paterson, Marian had been released in 1980 under a royal prerogative weighing 5st 10lb suffering anorexia nervosa and other serious illnesses as a result of more than 6 months force feeding ,while serving seven years incarceration, as a political prisoner of conscience. Dolours Price was dragged into the saga of the Boston Tapes project for activity under orders of her then IRA commander Gerry Adams, which the Provisional Sinn Féin president still denies. She has said, “I have put that away to the back of my head; it will run and run, and let it run, and I will not lose a night’s sleep over it” but she says, she is “completely distraught” about her younger sister..

The two sisters are opposed in political conscience to the 'Process' regarding it as a sell-out of traditional Irish Republican principles. Their hunger strike lasting more than 200 days while they were force-fed, was a critical issue during the political struggle for self determination by the Irish against British occupation, resulting in the sisters being pardoned by the Queen and other IRA members being transferred to prisons in British Occupied Ireland.Vice royal Patterson maintains the pardons are either lost or shredded without copy but still a maintains the pardons conditionality despite their disappearance and not having seen any document. Interfering with royal pardons without investigation constitutes perverting the course of justice, which carries a life sentence in prison.

Marian who was transferred from Maghaberry Prison outside Lisburn to Hydebank Prison in Belfast and is now in a Belfast hospital still in custody. Another Irish republican colleague Maire Drumm was shot dead by a British sponsored loyalist hit squad while also in a Belfast hospital. United Nations doctors who have examined Marian have reported she is “unable to comprehend the allegations being made against her to sufficient degree to inform her defence” and “she would be unable to follow the evidence in her own hearing as she lacks the ability to attend to detailed evidence”.

Aside from human rights issues, concerning the internment without trial of Marian Price, the order for her release not just by the queen but by several judges, she is in considerable daily physical pain with arthritis and is still close to death with pneumonia. Marian is suffering from several ailments directly related to her force feeding, internment and her sensory deprivation torture while in solitary confinement for almost a year. The British were found guilty of torture by the International Court of Human rights of interned prisoners, where they have failed to keep their promises to end torture in the sae way they are systematically breaking the promises made in their sabotaged peace process

Marian is justifiably within an extremely stressful siege mentality in such circumstances, bearing in mind the murder of her colleague while in hospital by the British previously. She faces execution by a British hit squad at any moment, like Maire Drumm and Maired Farrell who was also murdered while unarmed with her hands raise above her head, by the British SAS with specific orders to murder. This is considerable ongoing psychological torture for the 58 year old Marian and in the absence of any tangible evidence against her, demands her immediate release.

The reality however for Marian is that, even should she be released within British Occupied Ireland, as someone opposed to occupation of their own country in principle, it is an open air prison anyway, without due process or permitted opposition to British rule either on the street or even within its one party parliament The internement of Marian price is also proof that even due process is not legally permitted. Neither is the fourth estate, that other requirement of any democracy permitted with rampant censorship coupled with disinformation and doctored photographs.

Meanwhile Marian's sisters Dolours says she is “heartbroken.” “We formed bonds in English prisons and in Irish prison that can never be broken. I hope and trust she will find the strength and courage to keep on going.” Leading Irish politicians, writers and human rights activists have written the following letter to those concerned in the matter:

We wish to draw your attention to the continued detention of Marian Price, which we feel constitutes an alarming breach of human and civil rights.
Ms Price had previously served a long jail sentence in England and in the North and was released and pardoned in 1980 due to ill-health resulting from force-feeding over many months in 1973 and 1974.
Ms Price was arrested in May 2011 on the basis of charges, which have since been dismissed. At the time she was granted bail for those charges and has also been granted bail on subsequent charges brought against her, yet she remains imprisoned by order of Owen Paterson, British Secretary of State, who claimed to revoke her licence.
Ms Price’s health and welfare are at the forefront of this campaign and she has been declared too ill to attend court after spending more than a year in isolation. Ms Price is the victim of psychological torture and internment without trial, and as a result of this her mental health and physical health has deteriorated rapidly. Given concerns about her very poor health, we are calling for her immediate release based on humanitarian grounds. – Yours, etc,

Because of some glitch in the workings of Indymedia Ireland I have failed on a number of occasions to get an article published. It is concerning Mairead Maguire's open letter to Owen Paterson demanding the immediate release of Marian Price

As i also have failed two or three times to make contact to report the difficulty, i am posting a comment here. If it works, I will try to post my own news story as another comment.

In her open letter Mairead states that the treatment of Marian Price is cruel, inhumane and amounts to torture. Her detention for political offences committed nearly forty years ago is a serious violation of her human rights, she says. Marian had been pardoned for the offences.

Marian is now seriously ill in prison and her 14 month detention, (twelve in solitary) is a blank disregard for due process and and a violation of the Good Friday Agreement.

The full text of Mairead's Open Letter is as follows:

"OPEN LETTER TO BRITISH SECRETARY OF STATE FOR NORTHERN IRELAND
MR. OWEN PATERSON

Dear Mr.Paterson,

CALL FOR THE IMMEDIATE RELEASE ON HEALTH, HUMANITARIAN, AND JUSTICE GROUNDS OF MARIAN PRICE.

I write to you regarding the continued immoral and illegal internment of Marian Price. As you are well aware Marian has spent over fourteen months, in prison, twelve of which were spent in forced isolation, and she is at present seriously ill and held under armed guard in an isolated hospital ward.

This treatment is cruel and inhumane and amounts to torture as the words of the UN Special Rapporteur Juan Mendez on torture states: “indefinite and prolonged solitary confinement in excess of 15 days should be subject to an absolute prohibition”.

The illegal detention of Marian Price for political offences committed nearly forty years ago, and for which she was pardoned, is a serious violation of her human rights,a blank disregard for due process and a violation of our ‘the Good Friday Agreement’.

Unanimous medical opinions confirm Marian Price is unable to participate in any legal Proceedings due to her rapidly deteriorating health and as this is the case, and also in the interests of truth and justice, I write to request that this seriously ill women be released immediately to her family.
Yours sincerely,

Mairead Maguire
13th August, 2012"

New York Times appoints BBC's old boss, as new boss !

marMr Thompson has been director general of the BBC since 2004

The New York Times Company has announced that BBC director general Mark Thompson is to become its chief executive and president in November.
The NYT runs national and regional newspapers and websites and said his experience in digital media on a global scale made him the "ideal candidate".
Mr Thompson, 55, said he was "excited" to take on the role.
He took over as director general in 2004 and is responsible for the BBC's TV, radio and online services.
He started his career as a production trainee at the BBC in 1979 before leaving in 2002 to become chief executive of Channel 4 television.
At the beginning of July the BBC announced that George Entwistle would replace Mr Thompson as director general on 17 September.
"Mark is a gifted executive with strong credentials whose leadership at the BBC helped it to extend its trusted brand identity into new digital products and services," said NYT chairmann Arthur Sulzberger in a statement.
For his part, Mr Thompson said it was a "privilege" to take on the role.
"I'm particularly excited to be coming to New York Times Company as it extends its influence digitally and globally," he said.
The company, which owns the New York Times, International Herald Tribune and the Boston Globe newspapers, posted revenues of $2.3bn (£1.47bn) in 2011.
The company has been without a chief executive since Janet Robinson stepped down in December 2011.
